The business club concept of Finanz-Informatik

Increased productivity and efficiency thanks to a new workstyle

In 1999 the Finanz-Informatik staff stopped working in a traditional office environment. As the company moved into its new business premises, it not only said goodbye to the old office buildings, but also to the old office culture! Finanz-Informatik staff now work in business clubs and has chosen for a completely new workstyle.

Finanz-Informatik is the IT service provider that specializes in the banking industry. Its main activities are the development of systems and application software for some 200 ‘Sparkassen’ and banks. Finanz-IT has approx. 2500 employees.

The reasons why the Board of Finanz-IT decided to implement the business club concept included:

• saving costs by improving efficiency in use of space
• improving processes towards a more customer-oriented approach
• better support for working in cross-functional teams and projects
• increasing the work productivity by digital communication, flexibility and mobility
• stimulating the development of the corporate culture and management style

Every business club has a fixed structure, comprising three zones:

• The business center: the core area and the informal meeting point
• improving processes towards a more customer-oriented approach
• The team center: a varied mix of workplaces in a dynamic and open environment
• The lounge: this offers a quiet, atmosphere plus a view of the patio and the park

Positive experiences

Nowadays Finanz-IT works even more effectively as a team and can offer a better service to customers.
On top of this Finanz-IT saved 43 million euros in investment costs, plus 10 million euros in annual costs!
